You'll find it hard to cash in a travelers cheque in Toronto. Nobody uses them.
It's best to use your back card.
Your best bet is to go to a bank.

Do you have a good reason not to just use an ATM as you need money?

Ignore the person below me. There are as many places to cash travellers' cheques in Toronto as there are in any major city.

I can remember if there is a fee for cashing travellers checks
but best place to exchange is go to any bank in Toronto
C.I.B.C/Bank Nova Scotia/Bank Montreal/Canada Trust

Travellers cheques are a giant pain in the bum.. just bring a bank card.. it so much easier..

I would say any bank or currrency exchange place would do that for you.
