Soft boiled 4 mins - hard boiled about 12 to 15 mins depending if the egg was brought from the refrigerator and how large the egg is.

To get a hard or soft boiled egg you don't steam that is why they are called boiled, put your egg in the cool water put a dash of salt into the water. put burner to high watch when the water starts to boil time it three minutes from that point and you have a soft boiled three minute egg, if you want it hard boiled for salads or sandwiches you need to boil it about another 3 minute to 5.

6 min for soft remove it from the shell right away and10 min for hard but let it set for a bit if you let it set and cook to long that is how they get the dark ring they are still ok with that though if you dont mind it

that's very hard to say due to the size of the pot, amount of water, and type of stove you use(electric, gas, or whatever the other one is) for my house, it's like 5 mins for soft and 12 for hard.
