My cat is about 6-7 months old and when I got it, it was potty trained but was and still is not fixed due to financial means. Basically, my cat is peeing and pooping in the wrong places but in the earlier days she always used her litter box. I seriously need a real answer since we can't really afford a veterinarian right now! My cat is a girl and is not spayed yet. Also, there is a specific area she pees and I the litter is the same as always and is completely clean.

Your cat could have a urinary tract infection. You really do need to try to get her to a vet as soon as you can as she will need antibiotics if she does have one. Cats will often urinate and sometimes defecate in odd places when they're infected. It's their way of telling us something's wrong.

Other things to try: Change the type of litter you're using. Some cats dislike some litters so much that they avoid them. Consider changing where the litter box is located. She may have developed a reason to not want to go to that area. Maybe something fell, made a loud noise and scared her. Clean the "messed" spots, thoroughly. Even after the problem is resolved, the scent of where she went before will tempt her to go in that same spot, again.

Have you tried to move the litter box to the place that she pees all of the time. It is hard to get that scent out with just scrubbing it up. Try to get a pet odor remover that way she cant smell it anymore. Keep showing her where the litter box is. If that doesnt work then she may have a health issue. Try contacting the Humane Society. They have alot of the time phone numbers that you can call and people that may be able to help out with expenses for the vet.

when a cat has a urinary problem, he/she will go outside the litter box as that's their only way to communicate that something is wrong. If the litter box is not clean, they will not use it. Some cats are so finicky, that one piece of poo will prevent them using it. It could also be because she is not spayed. Call your local animal shelter as it may have vouchers for low cost spaying. The shelter may even have a veterinarian that is low cost.

Just move the litter box to the new area where she is peeing. And try buying different cat litter.

My cat used to urinate everywhere, by the patio doors,in the middle of the living room...for awhile it seemed he was 'marking his territory.' But, then it ended up being a kidney infection. Try taking it to the vet, try a town animal clinic, they are usually a little cheaper then actual vet hospitals.

This could be a symptom of a bladder or urinary tract infection...think it is time to take her to the vet.
