I am bulimic, my fiancee caught me thats how he found out. He wasnt mad at me, he was concerned. I told him that I didnt tell him out of fear that he would make me get help and make me stop or maybe that if I wasnt able to stop that he would leave me. We are still together and that was five years ago. He never pressured me to get help and never tried to play the daddy role and tell me to stop. When I explained to him why I did it and how it made me feel he understood. Tell him but before you do make sure that he understands that he cant be your savior and that he will let you deal with that part of your life. I still binge and purge, Its an addiction and a hard thing to give up. Bulimia is about control, Im sure that you feel that is the only part of your life that you can control. Good luck, with both the bulimia and your BF.

Right now, I don't think it's the right time to share this with your BF. I think you should get counseling, you are getting better, but you've got to stop altogether. What helps is knowing why you binge and purge (you said stress to start with). What now? A counselor can help you with all your fears and doubts. You do know you are slowly killing yourself. The acids in the partially disolved food that mix with the acids in your stomache are hurting your throat real bad. I know, I used to binge & purge as a way of staying slim. After you have been in therapy awhile, I'm sure you'll be able to talk to you BF, why he might even be very supportive of what you are doing to help yourself. Good luck!!

if he loves you he will support you and help you whenever you need it. he may even help to get help for you. minimal binging is great. but what really gets you is that you are destroying your throat every time you purge. what you purge has acids from your stomach and that's what erodes your asophagus. I did a project on the difference between bulimia and annorexia.
