Sadness is a function of having been happy. We mourn because we loved, we are sad because we were happy. Sadness is part of that, it is precious and wonderful. When I feel sad, I know it is because I love something or someone and am missing that love. I am thankful for the sadness and teach my children how to cherish their moments of sadness and remind themselves of how precious the joys and pains of life are.

Sadness often makes me appreciate the happiness in my life more. When I'm sad I often look at why I'm sad and what I can do to rectify the situation that made me sad in the first place. Of course I'm also an optimist so I try to look at the positive side of things or do what I can to make myself less sad. For example - if I see starving children on TV and it makes me sad, I'll often take a donation down to the food bank. Or if I see animals at a shelter I'll send out e-mails to all my friends and make posts to my journals to encourage people to adopt a pet. Stuff like that. I never just sit around and wallow in it, because then it turns into depression.

Sadness was signatured in the lower grand divisions of universes to underpin its opposite, happiness, and established through the very souls themselves as vortices -- both are mercurial forces and the hands and feet of their constant host, Joy.
Both are kindred qualities of innumerable others that help to underguide growth and ascension of souls in the lower worlds, and are foundations that afford souls with needed measures of Light and Sound, to be well used by self - and God-realized souls in the creation and running of the planes and heavens that proceed ever upward and have no ending.
As night depends on day to be night, thereto, sadness would evermore depend on happiness to be sadness; and happiness, on sadness to be happiness.
These fall within the Laws of Harmonics as established in the created universes, heavens, and worlds below the Great Divide, the worlds of duality, above which there exists only Joy.

After the rainy days the sun is so beautiful. Like looking at the beauty and glory of God's work after having teary eyes.
Like John the Baptist, while he was in prison he asked from Jesus if He was really the Messiah, or if he should wait for the other one. Jesus taught him that he should not look at his own circumstances, he should see that people get saved, healed and good things happen around Him for the glory of God. And did John get out of the prison? No,his head ended up in a plate. But He is with God forever.
Life has a lot of suffering and things do not seem right all the time, but when you look at the big picture God's promises are kind. If we suffer here, He has the whole eternity to make it up to us. : )

They allow us to fully appreciate the wonderful moments. During times of sadness I focus on simple things that make me feel good. I try to feel appreciation for all of the things that are going well.

Sadness is just one of the valuable human emotions. If there is never any sadness in your life, then you are, in one way, a psychopath.
Emotion is so important to us as humans. Sadness is natural. Overcome it. Time heals.

I just try to accept them for what they are; a chance to realize that life is bittersweet. Sad moments just make me appreciate joyous moments so much more.
