what you can and can not do, is between you and God, if there are thing that God does not want you to do you will fill conviction about those think, but God will still forgive you,

the problem is that when some people feel conviction over something they think that ever christian should be convicted of the same time, (that is not true, God treats us on a personal basis.) and then they make a religion of it, that is why there are so many don't in the churches of today.

develop a relationship with God and do what you feel comfortable with.

Uh..what? I go out. I just don't get naked in the middle of the bar, and have drunken sex with the coat check guy after last call. Or take home anyone for that matter. I don't feel I'm missing out here. One night stands most likely won't make me a better person.

Respecting yourself and/or being a Christian doesn't mean you can't have fun. Hell, they even had wine at celebrations in the Bible.

I have fun, but I don't do anything stupid. I can't say it's only because of what I believe, but I'm sure that has always played a role.

P.S. Esther has a very good answer. You have to do what you feel is right. Some Christians feel it is a sin to even set foot in a nightclub. Others, like me, think that doing so does not affect my actions or beliefs, so I do not have an issue with it.

You will get 10 different answers from 10 different Christians. The guy above me has a great answer ... get your answers through your bible and prayer.

Ecclesiastes 9:7 instructs “drink wine with a merry heart.” Psalm 104:14-15 states that God gives wine “that makes glad the heart of men.” God asks Christians to avoid getting drunk (Ephesians 5:18, Proverbs 23:29-35), there is no sin in drinking.

As for the music, I was part of the fundamentalist Christians that saw Satan in everything and never listened to secular music ... missed out on alot of great tunes. Perhaps you could ask somebody you respect. Peace :-)

I will be very straight with you about your question. There is a bible verse, all things are possible (for us), but not all things are expedient. Other than doing things that are obvious sins (getting drunk, having sex outside of marriage, etc.), I believe the more of the things of God you take into you, the more God shows you what He would have you do in life, perhaps what He would have you stop doing in life, etc. Maybe there are things in your life you are doing that God doesn't want you to do anymore. If you bring anything that you do...that you are in doubt about, before God, He can show you the way.

Best to seek the source about these answers, and not let another dictate what you "should" or "should not" be doing.

Don't worry about it. You just happen to be in a very restrictive denomination. Listen to what you want, do what you want. Just don't hurt anybody, and don't do anything to endanger yourself physically or psychologically. If you need some back-up, visit some more 'liberal' denominations and get their take on things. My bishop's right-hand man (a monk) rides a crotch-rocket, smokes like a chimny, and isn't afraid to knock back a few beers. But you won't find a more kind-hearted and devout individual. He keeps an icon of his patron saint on the gas tank - he kisses it three times, makes the sign of the cross, and supplicates the mercy of God before he pulls out of the parking lot.

The point is to balance your life with your devotion to God. You don't have to retreat from the world - you're here whether you like it or not. The key is to make religion a part of your life - not to replace your life with religion.

Hello! Jesus wants you to have an abundant life filled with joy, happiness, peace and prosperity. Oh and heaps of fun too!!!!, but godly fun, not the worlds way of fun. Sorry, but clubbing isn't good. If you go clubbing believe me, you will be exposed to all sorts of temptations, all sorts of people.etc.
I'm a born again christian and I'm always out having fun with my friends, "Christan friends"
We organise dinners, we meet for coffee, go see a movie, hang out at the beach, go clothes shopping together. We meet weekly for our girls group and talk about any problems we might be going through, and we talk about what God has been teaching us through the week. There are heaps of things you can do with your "christian friends"

Here are some scriptures to read....

Ephesians 4:17-32 and 5:1-21. These scriptures teaches us to live the way Christ wants us too.

God Bless you!

God knows our weaknesses coz He was the one who created us,but weaknesses is not an excuse to commit sin,we are all created to be perfect as God is perfect,we must follow His rules if we want to show we love him,we must give him our best shot in every single way as long as we live,God knows when you failed to follow some of his commandments becoz of weaknesses, but He also knows when you re just fooling Him,to be able to get close to him,we must surrender everything to him even our own pleasure, and its a BIG challenged to everyone of us if we would be ready to sacrifice anything for Him,after all, time will come when God will repay all what we have done for him,and its not for short happiness, but for eternal joy and rest!

Jesus drank wine.
David danced before the Lord and He was well pleased.

The Christian life is a life of celebration, or else why all the feasts?

I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.

Being drunk is a sin, but drinking is fine.

You have a good heart and God is really working in it ,however the enemy wants to lead you astray from doing God's will.
There are lot's of things that a christian can do and have fun without breaking God's laws. Look in the phone book and locate a Cornerstone church in your area and get involved with the thousands of people who are enjoying Jesus. They dance and sing and have a great time without felling any
guilt or shame.
