I ask because if you go to a restrauntant the waitress will often say nice playful things like honey, or sugar, or sweety. I've had female friends & even girls that I haven't known long or directly call me babe & baby sweety sugar. Sign letters with Always love, or Love, or Luv. I've had exs come back even after months or years apart call me Baby saying things like "Well lets get messed up baby". Especially if they do it alot it can encourage & send signals to people that they might the girl might not realise she's feeding. I've never been one to just assume anything so even if I like a girl & she agrees or says we should hang out i obviously dont see it as a date or assume that she likes me, wants me sexually or romanticly, or for a long term or even short term relationship but it does throw in some confusion in the mix in those situations. I mean I care about all my friends & would do anything for them but dont do certain things unless their really special letting my actions say it.

I'm asking because I seem to get it alot & fairly quickly. I've always believed in taking things slow building a good friendship & that if & when its feels right & strong then you sort of move to the next level. Call me old fashion & a hopeless romantic I guess. My folks have been married for 38 years, my dad's parents 70 years & my mom's mother never remarried or even dated after my grandfather died in WW2. Its nice to hear because it seems to show that your special but at the same time it can be very confusing especially as in some of mine own cases where I liked the girl & while I enjoy being friend with them there were times even hopes that in time it might progess. I've always been that actions speak louder then words & had several buddies who could say I love to anyone no matter how soon they met. Some thought they did or fell easily but most honestly just said it to score points I think but the things that use to signal someone extra special now seem to have lost their meanings

I do take it in stride its just frustrating & confusion especially when a woman at times will suggest or hint that men should be able to read there minds or know when to push a little more or say something or test the waters & not fear of it changing things either way. Its one reason why I never assume anything like just because a girl wants to hangout doesnt mean a date but still especially when she's sort of throwning things like this around you can't help but wonder... & if a friend seems down & you try to give her a break for just an hour here or there when it fit in her schedule yet suddenly she accuses you of having something in mind its just frustrating. I try not to let things like my past or little things like these get to me but sometimes its just hard & then hard too really pursue something with someone else for fear of being to forward or rushing or smothering or needy when all you might want is to share some of their time be it someone new or an old friend.

Well I'm a girl and I'm the total opposite of that-I'm like you: I only act a certain way around a guy I care about; I would only be affectionate in that way with him. With other guy friends, I'm either (actually) extra at-a-distance, or just plutonic as I would be with my girlfriends. I'm shy, though, so I may not fit the standard, but if girls are doing that, they may just be keeping their optins open and playing it out as if they're just being natural and friendly (it keeps guys guessing...but I think the guessing games are immature...that's just me)
Good luck!

If a female FRIEND is into you then they won't generally be TOO obvious about it, but they do flirt subtly. Usually we just make eye contact and smile alot, we pretend to be interested in everything you say, and when we're speaking to you we tend to make subtle body contact, like touching your arm when laughing... Hope this helps!

You are really a nice person. But people who are friend, they still flirt without knowing. So just hang out, have friend and take it in your stride. Flirting does not always means romantically or sexually, it may be for fun only.

I think most women do this because their trying to see if you flirt back and then that gives them a chance to see what you're about and talk to you to see where it may go. I think it's harmless but sometimes some women just like to flirt for the attention.

it could be nothing. Don't read into it. I think that she is just being nice. I call just about everyone I know baby. even my brother and sisters. If you are still confused you could ask her (the next time she calls you baby) what is that supposed to mean... IF she starts blushing, then she likes you... If she insists that it is nothing w/o blushing, it is likely to be no biggie to her.

Good luck!

These skanks know they can pretty much control a guy with their flirting. Especially if they know that youre into them.

Its just flirting, some of them just do it way better than the others.
