a beautiful ceremony or custom until organized religion gets hold of it . don't lose your grip this is only my opinion and is not mandatory for those that can't understand it. Washing is symbolic of cleanliness of spirit and mind and not just body although the bodily cleanliness is of prime importance as has been established by medical science .
And yes some people like full immersion and a lake should be entirely acceptable.

I was babtized in a creek what differance does it make just as long as you get babtized in water? This is just to show as a sign to let people know that you except Jesus and the washing away of your sins. As a matter of fact the day in november when i was babtized the sun was shinning and after the babtizim it started snowing out.

A washing away of FILTH. Creek, lake, stream, ocean, pond, no matter. Symbolic of YOU cleansing yourself to be prepared for the marriage. John said I baptize you with water but there is one among you ( Jesus ) that shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and Fire.
