I want to defend you by saying maybe you are thinking of your kids are someone important thats gonna be in the back seat. so some the other ansewrs are bit rude.I used to own a 96 rav-4 and the back seat of it was a bit tricky in securing car seats for children, i now have a 07 camry and sometimes i wish i had the new Rav 4 i test drove one recently a 2007 model ad rode in the back seat both me and my wife rode back there it is very comfortbale to me big improvemnt since the 96 model. It drove well also. they are nice vehicles and Toyota is a good vehicle. I only have Toyotas in my drive way . They are dependable, comfortble, reliable rides. been very pleased with everytyoyota ive owned. simply the best in my opinion.

well if your going to buy one for you to drive why the hell would you car what the backseat feels? if your to stupid and or poor to have a bedroom to yourself you probably cant afford a rav4 for you to do anything that would cause you to feel or lack of comfort. if you want to do any "sleeping" in the back of a rav it is SUPER easy to take out the back seats and put them back in later.. and then there is enough room for anything. my sisyer owns an '05 rav4 and i dont think there is a huge difference from the 07's but in the 05 when i was in the back seat it seamed a little wierd as the seat is high up in the air so it feels like you are on top of a car.. if you are seriously thinking of buying this $26,000 plus vehicle then just test drive it.. and go in the back seat and if you have children bring them along and ask if they are comfortable or not.. if they arent then get a different vehicle.. if you do accually have children then you might consider a minivan yes they are ugly but they are kid friendly.. also if they rav doesnt satisfy you there is also the ford escape (which comes im hybrid too) there is the mazda whatever the hell the honda crv the nissan xterra the chevy blaizer (not really midsize suv like the rav but smaller then an explorer) and there are probably others that i didnt mention if you are looking to buy a car what are you doing at your computer? go and head out to the lots and reseach on vehicles you know you like not on vehicles that just sound good/bad..

Do yourself a favor and dont buy a Toyota. Read all of this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArWKrQURWubLYghmK3BaCyLsy6IX?qid=20070301210328AAn8E5d
I havent even got to the infamous Toyota engine sludge problem that kills engines after about 7-10 years of normal use and recommended maintenece. You then have to buy a new engine, which costs thousands. Do yourself a favor and buy something like a GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook or Honda CRV. Theres a million more reasons in the link I gave you.

The only true way for yourself to know is to actually test drive it. If I like a car I take a test drive and if the sales guy keeps talking while I am trying to get the feel of the vehicle i tell him to shut the ..... up. LOL. I am in sales to but I don't like someone to sell something to me. Take a test drive w/o the sales guy though.
