Rapture: The time when believers in Jesus will be taken up from the earth and will meet Jesus in the clouds. The dead will also be raised at the same time. Three views of the rapture are common. One says that it will happen before the anti-christ comes on the scene which will usher in the Great Tribulation period of 7 years. Another says that it will occur half way through the tribulation just prior to God's wrath being poured out on the earth and some believe it will occur when Christ actually returns to earth at the end of the tribulation period.

The mark of the beast is a symbol that all people will be forced to have in order to buy or sell goods in the anti-christs world. The number 666 is claimed to be the mark but that could be just an example. Christians will not accept the mark of the beast because of their faith in Jesus and will therefore suffer death or other serious consequences as a result of that choice. The anti-christ at this time will be in control of the earth geographically. He will be very powerful politically.

The final battle between Jesus and the anti-christ which is Satan's spokesman at the time will occur just outside the city of Jerusalem. It will also be a battle between those that were taken up with Jesus and those that were left behind to worship the anti-christ (satan).

There will be a seven year tribulation period. I believe the church will be raptured off the earth before the beginning of this seven year time. The antichrist will come to power, and after three and one half years of peace, he will stand and demand to be worshipped as God. At some point during these seven years....the antichrist will demand for people to have a mark of some sort put in either their hand or forehead, without which they will not be able to buy or sell. His demanding worship triggers the latter half of the tribulation, when God's wrath is poured upon the earth.

At the end of the tribulation, Jesus will come to earth and satan will be bound in the abyss for 1,000 years. This is known as the millennial reign of Christ. After that time, satan will be let loose for awhile, the battle of Armaggedon will occur, satan and the false prophet will be destroyed, and then the judgment, where those who have rejected the Lord will be thrown into the lake of fire.

The word rapture is not mentioned in the Bible , but the description is ....1 Thessalonians 4 : 17 ..
