Is it bad to say happy birthday to an ex if if it's been OVER for a little more than one year? My ex-boyfriend's b-day is comig up in April, & I'm not sure if I should say something or not. If i do say something ,I will NOT call him, but I will either send him a very short & casual email or just say something on msn. HE was the one who ended the realtionship last year and we dated for a short while. We never had sex cuz he knew I'm saving myself for marriage. Also, he use to say hi to me on msn. And 2 months ago he called me & wanted to see a movie. I went with him, but he hasn't contacted me since. Would I seem desperate if I just tell him a casual birthday greeting?

It's probably not a big event either way. There would be some possibility of rekindling the relationship. Do you want that? Maybe you could be on your way to being friends. That's very mature, are you ready for mature?

If you think you will have a good future, then do something like goin' out together to celebrate the B day, not only a casual birthday greeting. Or if you don't think you Do have future, just forget him, it's hard and cruel, but the only thing you need to do is that, and try to find another boy . Create a new start of your life.

If he hasn't taken the time to contact you in the last two months then he isn't worth a greeting. Let him go, move on, and chalk that one up as a loss. By sending the greeting he'll think that he still has you where he wants you.

No, that wouldn't seem desperate, but keep it simple. If he has interest in you he will then call and give thanks or possibly ask you out again. I wouldn't expect to get back together, but a friendly card is no big deal.
