ever since he asked me out by bff has been instigating all the calls and stuff its almost been a month and we haven't been on a real date yet hes a little shy how do i get him to come out of his shell and i do i tell her nicely to back off???

Maybe, you should dump him. He may be more interested in your best friend than you and may not be worth keeping. If it has been a month and still no date, then move on and ask someone else out. If he gets jealous, then he will make a move or he will start dating your friend.

for him, you should make him feel really at ease around you and he will eventually relax and be more unshy, for your best friend just kind of sit down and explain to her that this is your relationship and you would kindly like you to be the one handling it.
