but the thing is that I have a daughter who is 4. Is it O.K. for me to avoid women with children?

My reason is that I was married to a woman with kids and am now divorced. I love her children dearly and did so immediately for whatever reason. However, I have not felt that way with other women's children and am thinking I should stick to women without kids.

Anyone else out there been in this predicament?

You have the right to choose the kind of person you want. Just make sure you don't lead anyone on.

What if "the one" has a kid? When you date someone with a kid, try setting restrictions on yourself. Dont get too involved with there kids right away. Try to evolve the relationship with her first and not the child. Eventually yes you should grow your relationship with the child as well, but dont let her push it on to you on just a few days. If you ever end a relationship, both the child and you may be the worst coming out of the relationship.

I hear men all the time complaining about your situation.
"I now have to watch her kid at night because she doesnt have a baby sitter"

"I now have to pick up the kid after school and drop them off"

Dont be a baby sitter. Grow your relationship the mother first. If you think its safe, then you can move on.

Well . . . given that you already have a child, it does not seem right for you to avoid women with children. Guys with NO children usually want to date childless women even more than you do. If you happen to fall in love with a childless woman, that's fine. But if you deliberately seek out childless women and ignore women with children, then you're doing everyone a disservice. Good luck!
