cuz, you also have to wonder how the earth would rotate, and all that other physics crap.

The earth may still have gravity, it just wouldnt be evenly distributed through out the entire planet, due to the force of the rotation. The shape would cause the gravity to be stronger in some areas than in others, so depending where you were you would either go flying or be crushed...

just my theory...

Whether gravity would work or not mostly depends on how much mass your banana planet has.

Of course, gravity (even its own) and various things about physics are what keep it from being banana shaped...

All object have gravity. Even you, or a banana has gravity. The thing that would be a problem would be, as you said, the rotation and orbit.

Depending on the size and mass, it could seriously affect gravity. If more mass were to your sides or above you, it would be quite an issue. If it were not so curved, it would not be a big issue.
