My information center says my tailgate is open, but it isnt. While the car is moving, the alarm keeps beeping. Can someone tell me where the sensors are or how to turn the darn thing off?

The sensor is bad. BUT PLEASE!, don't waste your time on a Haynes Manual. They are a joke. Buy a factory manual, yes it cost more, but it is more detailed and more informative than the joke of a Haynes book.
Also the Jeep Grand Cherokee's from 1993-1997 are plagued with electrical problems. Don't worry, it can all be repaired in time.
My 1996 had a habit of the alarm going off every morning at 1:36am for two weeks before I traced the problem and got it repaired.
Remember it is a Jeep after all. If taken care of, it will last for years.

i own a repair shop, and its the switch that's bad for it,there is a switch back there ,so that when the door is open on it,that it makes the rear light come on it has gone bad,any parts store will have this part, and its only a short 10 minute job to replace it,or less, but that's whats causing this to happen,i replace them all the time, usually its the drivers door one that goes bad first on any vehicle, but that's all that's wrong with it,for the time being you can pull the fuse for the alarm system and dis-able it,that will stop that part of it,but you,ll need to get the switch put back on it as soon as possible, its a cheap part ,and if the parts store don't have it,they can get it in one day for you, good luck,i hope this helps.

Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance
