mostly, the founder of religion is the one who wants to manipulate peoples mind.

one_realist was pretty thorough.
I'd add one thing - there are a lot of folks in mainline denominations that aren't in agreement with emphasizing the Spirit to the extent that many Pentecostals do. The denominations under the pentecostal umbrella are much younger than most of the mainline denominations, and there isn't always the same level of oversight. This can be good and bad. The Spirit of God is powerful and wants to be active. The checks and balances aren't always very robust. There can be limited oversight of a specific church, which can give room for abuse by a local church's leaders.
Not having attend a 'pentecostal apostolic' church, I can only say that from what I've read, these churches seem to generate more controversy than some others. The 'oneness Pentecostals' and the 'united pentecostal church', or UPC, I think are one and the same.
I voice caution where there aren't sound checks and balances, and don't forget to check the teachings of the church against God's word - man doesn't supersede this, as some Pentecostals forget from time to time, for whatever reason.

Hello. Well, first there's a difference between a Pentecostal and an Apostolic. Both do believe in speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance as a manifestation of receiving the Holy Spirit. The primary differential between these two is this: Apostolics believe that unless you speak in other tongues you are NOT saved... which is incorrect! Apostolics also believe in Jesus only. Pentecostals (from the word pentecost... meaning 50... as for the 50 days following the ascension of Jesus from the dead) usually believe in a Trinity and would not affirm that only by speaking in tongues is a soul saved. Pentecostals/charismatics (the latter are people who've come from mainline denominations to be spirit filled saints) believe in baptising in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the Apostolic churches I've visited, there's not as much functioning of the gifts of the spirit (i.e. prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, and/or tongues and interpretation of tongues). Look up how the Spirit was poured out in the revivals of Azusa street. God can manifest Himself through the Spirit in many ways as He pleases. There's just something about being in a church where the prophetic element and functioning of the gifts are flowing. It's wonderful and offers something you'll not find in a mainline denomination. The worship is different and there is such liberty. It's wonderful! Hope this helps some. Be blessed.

Apostolic pentecost is Jesus name, tongue talking, holy living, Holy Ghost filled, child of the one true God.
Apostolic means of the apostles. It began way back on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost came and 3,000 were added to the church that day.
Read the book of Acts for more details.

The Pentecostal Church was formed over 100 years ago. We call ourselves Pentecostal because we know that God is still pouring out His Spirit upon people as He did during the first Pentecost. I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the "Vineyard Pentecostal Church." But I was introduced to a large UPC shortly afterwards. I learned a lot and I enjoyed both until God promoted me. I now have a wonderful relationship with God which I thought was impossible until God filled me with Himself. The words that I thought that I made up in my own mind, were actually praising God in Hebrew! Also God delivered me from ALL of my addictions, codependency, and depression all in one night, after I started praying in tongues that very same night. Then God brought me a good wife the very next day! That was over 8 years ago!
I also believe in being baptized in the name of Jesus, not in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost is Jesus, otherwise God's Word would have said. In the name of the Father AND in the name of the Son, AND in the name of the Holy Ghost, and then the Bible would have given us those names. The Bible also says that they were baptized in the name of Jesus for the payment of their sins. But I also believe in the triune being of God. That there is a separation of the three, but they are UNITED. And once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, then God gives us the Holy Spirit, God Himself. He then indwells us. If we remain faithful to Christ, then we will inheirit eternal life. I do not believe that one needs to speak in tongues to be saved, but I do believe that it was the power that I needed to overcome those things which I was bound by so that I could become an effective witness for Christ. I can see the difference in my life and I can understand why many believe that one needs to speak in tongues, but God has reveiled to me that I was saved at the moment I asked and not at the moment of His Manifested Presence.
My advice for you is to ask God< Himself, which Church He wants you to go. He will let you know with signs and conformations.
If you have anymore questions, I will be glad to answet them.
Sincerely Yours, Pastor Jeff Ludin, An Apostle Of Jesus

It's a movement within churches. an apostle will come and help the pastor to set the church in correct order. Usually it is a good thing, but with anything else, sometimes there are problems.
