The success stories are just those; "stories". They're made up to sucker poor souls into giving them their hard-earned money for a service that they can't even garuntee is going to get them any results at all. You buy everything that site has to offer, but what it all comes down to is are you interesting enough to make the person you e-mail actually want to write you back? Try going on a FREE service first. If you can't get anything out of a free service, you won't get anything out of a paying service except for a less heavy wallet.

A few friends of mine and I tried e-harmony, and none of us had any success with it. The questionnaire that you fill out in the beginning, well, I guess either it didn't ask the right questions, or I didn't know how to answer it, because I found out that most of the people I was matched up with were truly not what I wanted. I did end up e-mailing about 2 or 3 guys I met there off the site, but that died out. I met one guy and we went out twice, but I could tell we weren't right for each other. Maybe if I could redo the questionnaire, it might yield better results, but I don't know. None of me or my other two friends had any luck with it. I started with a 3 month subscription, and was supposed to be able to get a special promotion for 3 more months after that, but for some reason it wouldn't accept my credit card again after my time had expired, and wanted me to pay the exorbitant full price, and so I tried to contact them to help me, but no such luck. So I finally just gave up on it. I've not really had any luck with any online dating.

It is expensive and it sux. Out of all the e-dating I have done, I have met 2 LTRs on one FREE service, and E-Harmony hooked me up with the only psycho that I met out of probably 20 total contacts from all my sources over 5 years. It gives you the least freedom and the most drawn out process that guarantees NO safety. I called the cops on the jerk. I had one coffee with one other guy from there. HATED EHARMONY. Told all my friends about the one I called the cops on. Not worth the money at all.

I had some tech problems with the site but got it worked out. I did meet a very wonderful women on that site, It didnt work out mostly because of timing, her kids (very long story) where at a very trying time in their lives. We still chat once a month or so, but I dont see it going anywhere. Its really too bad, she was everything I would want in a woman, a perfect match on everything in both our lives! ohh well.

Best online dating site for serious singles.
eHarmony is a more targeted dating service than Match.com and others. Reviews say it specifically helps singles look for long-term relationships and marriage partners. eHarmony uses an exhaustive 500-item personality questionnaire (which can take an hour or more to complete) that helps to match singles based on 29 key criteria. Even the communication process is more involved, requiring four separate steps. Although not for casual users, reviews say eHarmony is the best online dating service for those looking for something serious and substantial. eHarmony now offers a new program for married couples that provides relationship tools (*est. $50 per month).
