I'm not a doctor, yet this has worked for me personally.

Put a cold pack on your upper back and neck.
Put a warm pack on your lower back
5 minutes trade
2 minutes trade
finish with nothing on your lower back and a cold on your upper.

That is forces the muscles to relax by moving the blood flow around. The Warm is NOT to be used on its own, it the area is swollen. You may need several adjustments this week, so be prepared to go at least three times.

Put biofreeze on that area, to apply chemical cold to that area.

Ibuprofen is what I would recommend and that's really all.
DRINK plenty of water. If you can get a massage tomorrow, then do it. Be sure to get you upper chest and neck and entire length of back and hips done. Best wishes.

Im not a doctor but I have neck pain all the time. The first thing I do is try and relax. Turn the lights off, no noise, no one bothering you.

Some times I get in the shower and use the massage part on the shower head. And just stand under it for a while. Let it massage my neck and parts of my head.

A chiropractor might also tell you to change your pillow, Try using a new one tonight. It works for me.

Good Luck.

I'm not a doctor, but I believe I can help you with this. Take a tennis ball or a hard rubber ball. Lie on the floor. Put the ball underneath you in the area that is spasming. Put as much pressure on the ball as you can stand (even if it seems very painful at the time), and try to do that for a minute. Then roll the ball to other areas around your back that are connected to the painful area and continue to do this.

The reason this works is that it releases endorphins (which are natural painkillers in your body), and because you likely have a pinched nerve, the pressure may also release it.

Well, there are good over the counter meds that will help, and you should give them a try until you see the doctor. Ibuprofen is great, Ibuprofen (Orudis KT) and Aleeve. Try soaking in a hot tub of water to relax those muscles and if you already have meds, take them as prescribed for relief.

Go to Walmart or Walgreens and get one of those fabric hot wraps that go around your back. Take 3 calcium caps,(twinlab triboron plus as it is strong) 1 magnesium and 1 Vit D with fatty snack. I had muscle spasms constantly from bone cancer and wore those wraps 24/7 what a Godsend!! Calcium relaxes smooth muscle...

The best solution I can give is a heating pad, or icy/hot. As well as one of those pain relieving patches. They do work and help sooth the aches and relax the area. Also try sitting in comfortable positions. For a fast solution for that I'd have to say asprin. I hope something helps, best of luck.
