Your local volunteer center should be able to provide you with all sorts of options. Through my volunteer center, I lead the teen programs at the local museum. In addition, my volunteer center has a specific youth program.

Volunteer centers provide one-time or short-term volunteer opportunities, and can refer you to various non-profit organizations for longer-term opportunities.

Here are some links to help you find your volunteer center:

Good luck!

Craigslist.org--They have a volunteer section.

Volunteermatch.org.

Onebrick.org--this is for major areas like SF, NYC, etc. You go and help out without being tied to a group or organization.

Your high school counselor should know of opportunities. Also try your local library.

Try going online and check out camps for the blind or
for disabled youngsters. My friend went for years she loved
it so much. She made so many friends an some were blind,
some were crippled. She has a heart of gold and loved them
all and made so many wonderful new friends and also met
the man of her dreams there and they married this past summer.

best solution is to go to your local courthouse and ask for local volunteer locations, they will definatly have some because who are sentenced community service may choose to ask for locations, and since the court handles juvinelles there will be places that wont require being 18.
