Obviously this question is for fellow Christians. By asking this question, I don't mean to instigate date setting. I'm just curious about everyone's thoughts regarding the return of Christ. While it's important to live every day for Christ, eventually there will come a day when He will return. How far away do you think we are (serious answers, for goodness sakes, pretty please). A year? 3? 5? 10? 15? 25? 40? 50? 75? 100? 500? 1,000? Of course no one knows the date (I'm not asking for the date anyway, lol). How far away does the return of Christ feel to you?

It's hard to say when the actual day will come. He could have come since 1967 when Israel gained their capital Jerusalem back. All prophecies up to that point had been fulfilled. We are just now in the tarry mode. Question is: When will God say the tarrying is over, Son go receive Your bride?

The Spirit is in the air for sure. Things are unfolding at quantum leaps. Every day we can turn on the television, open the newspapers, and see how our own communities are fulfilling Bible prophecy.

Iran is waiting for their "messiah" to come some time this month. Of course, who's to say that will happen.

The world religions all agree "their" messiah is soon coming. With the NWO also coming in at a rapid pace, the time is nigh at hand.

Just be ready at any moment for the trump to sound and those dead in Christ shall rise first, those in the physical form will be quickly changed.

Then all hell will break loose!!!!

The actual coming to earth for the Second time will not take place until the end of the Tribulation period. That period will last for seven years. Then those that are alive will know the exact time of the Coming of the Lord with His saints.

The thief in the night passage is talking about the catching up of the bride to meet her Bridegroom. Not every eye shall see, nor every ear shall hear.. only those in Christ will see Him in the clouds and hear the trump sound.

The Rapture (catching up) and Second Coming are two different events completely.

Not all other generations before the generation of Israel becoming a nation again, and that generation that saw them gain Jerusalem back were the generation the Bible speaks of. The Bible tells us the generation that sees this happen shall not all pass away.

A generation is 40 years. This year marks the generation of those born in 1967. The generation that saw Israel become a nation turned 40 in 1988. Most of them are still here.

The trump could be heard tonight, that's as soon as it could happen... the latest is unknown to us, the angels, and the Son of God/Man.

To one_real: The Bible does not say the Church will be revived or be in revival when the Bridegroom comes for His bride. It tells the opposite, many shall fall away from sound doctrine. Which many are falling away at quantum leaps now. Just be ready!!!

Let me write something that I was given a couple of days ago by a fellow Christian when I was experiencing a great sadness over the number of atheists still in the world. He had prayed about my issue and gave me this a few hours later making the statement that he believed it came from God.

This is what it says:
My daughter, what you are feeling is how I feel. My word tells you that you have the mind of Christ. But I tell you, you also have the heart of Christ.

The hopelessness is how the lost see things. Those who know me do not share in this hopelessness but rather are encouraged because the signs of the times show how soon my return is.

Pray for the lost, encourage the saved and rejoice because your redemption is near.

Meditate on Psalms 91, especially where 10,000 may fall at your side, but no harm will come near you. Psalms 91 is my promise to you during these testing times.

Based on that, I would guess that our redemption is near.

I guess each generation has felt that the glorious return of Jesus is near. I often hear my mother refer to signs and wonders, and the earth does seem to be groaning with earthquakes and global warming and other disastrous weather. It gives a moments pause. Although I still find the earth very beautiful, we have to admit there is a lot of blatant wickedness. People no longer hide to do wrong. I don't think a lot of people even fear God's judgment. I personally hope to see my grandchild born and I'm not ready to go to Heaven on the next "bus," but I do think His coming his very near. There is nothing to fear. We just have to live our lives, ready to meet Him at any moment. God is great. God is good.

Hello. What a profound question here! The thing is that though there is much prophecy being fulfilled, I think there's much more to happen. The Church needs to get revived and universally proclaim His Lordship in the earth. So many peoples have not heard of His name. I'm talking about hundreds and maybe even thousands of languages yet to have God's word in print to give to people around the world. I personally think it's a long way away. Saints back in Paul's day would quit working and not function as God would have them to as they were expecting it to come in their lifetime. He would have us continue to spread the good news, see souls witness the miracle of salvation, see God heal the bodies of hurting folk the world around, for the fresh anointing and prophetic word to come forth, and to see demonstrative workings of God... such as would happen daily. So many need to hear and we need to continue casting down the enemy so souls can be free to hear the truth. Jesus said "Occupy til I come"... and that's what we need to do! God bless you.

According to Bible prophecy and by the sign of the times, not more than 10-15 years......In our lifetime!!........Isn't that exciting!!..... We are going to be in the first resurrection and will reign as joint heirs with Jesus Christ for the Millennium rule in the Kingdom of God on earth.

I really believe the little passage about "Coming like a thief in the night" means something. I feel like He will come at any moment the way the world is today.

I have absolutely no idea. If I had to guess, which of course I could only do because no one knows the date, I would say within the next ten years.

However, I could be completely mistaken...it could be fifty, a hundred, or tomorrow.

I've been told that we will all probably be in our graves when Jesus comes, but look at the signs - now is as good a time as any for Jesus to come.
