I keep seeing people saying caqtholic/christian etc but christians and catholics are the same. You worship the same person you follow the same doctrinces - Catholics are Christians just like baptists are christians, just like lutherans are christians. People have to understand this, there are not many different chritian religins, just chritian churches with different traditins but the message and belief is still the same! Go ahead and enlighten me about what is so different between Catholics and Christians if you can!

So the impression I am getting is that you guys who are catholics certainly do consider yourself christians which is great. Shame on you atheists who know nothing and shame on you other christian church members who think they are belonging to the only true church. (That makes you sound like a Mormon or Jehovahs Witness)

Frankly I can not imagine an intelligent Roman Catholic not knowing that they are Christians. I can understand some other branches of the Christian Church not knowing that. It is stupid, of course, but some 'bible churches' don't think of anyone other than themselves as "true" Christians.
And to the person below me, Christianity is a RELIGION.

Catholics most certainly do call themselves Christians. In fact, they consider themselves the original Christian sect.
It's certain of the newer sects, such as the Pentacostalists and the Adventists, who insist that Catholics aren't Christians.
"Shame on you atheists who know nothing"? What's *that* about?

Thanks for expressing solidarity with Catholics. I think sometimes we feel excluded
Many(not all) Catholics think that if they say Catholic that is saying Christian.
The word Catholic just means Universal. To say Catholic implies Christian, because before The Catholic church there was no other Christian church.
I am uncomfortable with this subject myself because I know that the heart of Jesus longs for us to get rid of petty differences and quibbling about doctrine and semantics. I always say Christian when I identify myself because i don't want to imply anything that might be divisive.
I am also very very very sick and tired of people repeating the LIE that Catholics pray to(implying worship) Mary and the saints. We ask for thier prayers.

We are Catholic and we are Christians. There was no other Christian but Catholics for many years. There should be another commandment : Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor Catholic's name

We are Christians. We simply have different viewpoints on some things than the other Christian faiths.

Yes Catholics are Christians but they are different. They pray to Mary and various Saints (what i was taught when I attended Catholic school). Most other Christians only pray to Jesus.

I call myself Orthodox, are you touchy about that? They are trying to be more specific for you, and defining which Christian denomination they adhere to.
