I'm not sure I understand your question, but I can tell you that a baby is born with 5 pieces of skull. As the baby gets older, the skull pieces fuse together to form one solid bone. Bones grow by a process called "calcification."

So, what I think you are asking, is what the calcified bump on your baby's head is. My guess is the skull did not fuse together properly (the back of the head usually fuses by 6 months. The top can take up to two years to close) If that's the case, you can't do anything about it.

Why do you mention blood?

So you are saying that the bump was blood, which is a kind of bloody tumor and probably not a problem, bus has now become calcified? I take this to mean the area with the blood has turned to bony tissue. This is probably removable and as soon as possible is what I think. So, ask the Dr. all the questions, you have the right to know it all and it is his job to explain. Make a list of what you want to know, then when you see him or when you talk to him on the phone regarding your baby ask all these questions and if more come up ask them right then. Also, write the answers down. Ask him to spell if you don't understand the words, also ask for the plan to fix whatever is wrong, who will do it and when, and what the outcome will be. If you aren't satisfied take the baby to another DR. Get another opinion.
Remember there are no stupid questions, only the ones you don't ask because you are afraid to look stupid, but it makes you more stupid when you don't know, you are the baby's mom, you have the right to know it all and he needs to explain in simple and clear terms what is going on and you need to tell him that. Sometimes Dr's get so used to talking like Dr's hey forgeet that everyone doesn't understand all the terms and leave it out. So, for your peace of mind ask and write the questions down so you don't frget, I always do, to get my visit to be worth the money and so I leave with the information I really need, I always forget if I don't make a list. Good luck to you. I will pray for you. Father God, be with this mom and child, work your healing powers on their lives. Give the Dr. knowledge and wisdom to care for this child and heal the problem, through your power or by using the Dr. We know this is easy for you. Let this mom understand what is happening to her child, let the Dr. have patience and understanding for her and let it all work together for good. We ask this in your son's name Jesus. We thank you and we love you. Amen.
