Very common misunderstanding is when you have low scores most people try to apply for schools that do not require std test scores. But, if you have good prior grades, GPA other academic credentials directly related to field of your major then I would say distribute your chances of making big. Apply to good schools that do require std test scores even though you are below their minimum reqs. Some schools look much farther than scores at least the good ones.
For example: If you published papers as an under-grad in the field of your major, most univs will not even care what your scores are. But there are some which do filter apps on scores. But not all of them !

If you have high enough GPA then your standardized test scores won't matter at most colleges/universities. However, you still would have to take it.

You can choose to go to community college for a year, which does not require standardized tests and then transfer to a College or University.

I don't know where you live, but the last I heard, universities and colleges up here in Canada didn't adminsiter standardized testing. You were admitted based on your high school grades.

If you are interested, better do some research to see if that is still true as it's been awhile since I was in university. :)

Most reputable ones do require some sort of standarized test scores.
