so your saying you want more time with your children?
im 12 almost 13 and i spend a lot of time with my mom. like we go shopping and i talk to her about school and boys(a lot of other girls at my school dont have tht connection with their mom like me).like they cant talk to their mom about anything. like how moms say how was ur day at school. im like it was good. then i tell her about my day. and the funny things tht happened and like weird little stories tht dont make any sense.

They mean that time went too fast and they didn't get to spend as much time with their kids as they hoped and wish they could make time stand still so they can become closer to their children.

Its just like when you say that "the school year went by fast" or if your doing something with your friends and it seemed like 20 minutes went by when it was really 3 hours.

I think the age that seems to go by the quickest is 18, because youre not a kid anymore and you've suddenly got so many responsibilities. You have to find a job, a place to live, a car. I had a crapy childhood and i didn't get to go outside and play like most cihldren do, so growing up when very fast for me.

I agree yet i'm attempting to potty prepare my 21 mo. we've been engaged on it for extra or less 4 mos now and if he is going thats super yet while no longer, no vast deal. that's going to take place finally! My reason is to get him right into a a million/2 day, two times a week, preschool style application the place he can meet and play with different infants, outdoors of the park and domicile ecosystem. I hate it that he's becoming up so speedy!

If you don't have children, you wouldn't know what it means. Once your kids start school, you start seeing less and less of them. Before you have had time to turn around twice, they are starting school, then going into Jr. High, then to high school, then prom and out in the big world. Even though you live with them, you miss so much. I guess it is more a love of having them around and wanting them to stay children a little longer. I hope some how I made a little sense with this. I agree with the other person that said she knows what it means but doesn't know how to explain it.....You would just have to have kids.

Basically, it refers to a time of being carefree and worry-less.

A time where your biggest concern was what game to play at recess, instead of which bill to pay first.

A time where you didn't fully understand how cruel the world could be. Your mom could kiss away your boo-boos, and your heart had never been broken...

Kids are in such a rush to "grow up," that they don't realize how precious it is to be young and clueless. Once you grow up, and know the "real world" you can never go back. Innocence can never be restored.

In a nutshell, not understanding or having to deal with all the complexities of adulthood... or even teenagedom...

I had that, but for not as long as other kids...

the older i'm getting, i do realize that kids these days are growing up too fast and you'll really understand it when you become a parent. It's interesting, kids always strive to be older that what they really are - middle school kids acting like high school, high school kids act like they're in college, etc...but the older you get and realize that you are turning into an adult (whether you like it or not), the more you don't want to grow up and how much you miss being younger. Don't take those years for granted - when you're in middle school or in high school, act like it before the time comes when someday you'll really miss it.

1.For one thing till you have your own you might not get the true meaning but..as much as children try to be grown up most aren't because you never truely know how hard it is being responsible for someone else until you are. Heck its hard enough being responsible for yourself!
2. Some kids try acting grown up and not have a clue of the consequences of the actions they take...This is where the parents stick their nose in and save you!!

Finally it means for example I'm 40 ish and if I knew at the age of 15 what I know now...My choices in life would be different.

They mean that life is going by so fast. They feel like one second their child was just uttering its first words or walking its first steps and now its going off to college and getting married in two weeks. They feel like in the blink of an eye, their child has gone from being 2 to being 25

Parents just remember when they were young...and think about what they should have done and what they shouldn't have done...younger people just seem to live life to fast they want to do things that adults do...and trust me sometimes it is worth it and others it is not...that is why parents are there to guide you...they try to help you make the right decision...they are not trying to keep you from anything...they just want you to be happy...and not screw up like they did or like their friends did or even like their parents did...

i think they mean that kids want to skip over being kids and ..have bf/gf...have sex....drink....everything they think adults do that is so fun and never totally experience the carefree days of being a kid.. I miss the unending energy i had as a kid, but nothing else.
