My dentist is putting me on 15mg of Valium orally for my wisdom teeth removal. I anticipate that I will receive local blocks, but should I expect Nitrous Oxide? I was just curious, I don't know what that will do to me and it makes me a little nervous.

First, with 15 mg. of Valium you won't really care. Then if they give you gas it will only make you not care even more and feel really silly, usually. By the way, you are taking the Valium close to the appointment right, some people that are very sensitive to sedatives may want to fall asleep on that much. So, in my opinion you have a very compassionate Dentist and you won't feel a thing and you won't feel nervous. He is doing his beat to make sure of that and that is wonderful. So,relax, take the drugs and get plenty of rest while you can. Do what the Dr. says, no straws for drinking, no smoking...it can cause dry socket and that is very painful. Good luck.

Valium does no longer something for soreness. besides the undeniable fact that in case you're taking sufficient, you may no longer care any more suitable... lol. the perfect issue to do could likely be to call the place of work again, and ask about different soreness alleviation ideas.

Well, that all depends. If I wasn't a recovering drug addict, I'd take all of the above...but maybe thats because I *am* a recovering drug addict...hmmm...

I had one removed right after I got sober and I did it with only local. No pills afterwards. It wasn't fun, but not as big a deal as some would think. I think it all depends if, and on how bad the teeth are impacted?

Apparently you are scared or really nervous about getting your teeth removed and that's why he prescribed you the Valium so you will be calmer when you come in. You will be asleep while they pull your teeth so there is no need in worrying about it. I know that's easier said that done. :)

your dentist is a quack. I have never heard of prescribing valium for wisdom tooth removal, Novacaine is what they usually use
