my wisdom teeth are infected right now. can i use listerine to keep myself from swallowing the infection by killing the germs?

I don't think so...I think you have to go to the dentist to cure the infection. The listerine is probably only keeping the infecton from getting worse, but not curing it.

I hope you are seeing a dentist for this infection. You need an antibiotic...pronto! Listerine probably won't hurt, but it won't clear up the infection. Your overall health is at stake, so please see a dentist ASAP.

Listerine won't solve it. Delaying treatment from a dentist will make it worse. Get it treated asap.

By the way, swallowing the bacteria from the area probably won't make you sick. They won't survive in your stomach. (but if you've got a really gross taste/smell in your mouth, I could see where that might make you sick...)

You need an antibiotic therapy = 2 x a day, for 1 wk. See your dentist, none of us here can write you a script!! CALL THE DENTIST before your face falls off! (;
