Im muslim by the way

How can I concentrate more when praying and not think about other things. Also when I pray I use about 6 chapters from the Quran to recite. Is it okay if I use these select few all the time until I learn more.

salam walaykum, im a muslim to. if you wanna concentrate more while praying the best advice i can give you is really make the intention before praying that this is for god and really think about what your doing every movement and every word. i mean when youre down in sigood or prostration it is the most important part of prayer because your completly submitting yourslef to Gods will so really think about that and think about the words your reciting, they are very powerful words and i think understanding what they mean is more important than memorization. and it is ok for you to keep reciting the same chapter everytime you pray but you should try to start memorizing others, but its ok if you just recite the 6 you know, i mean everybody has to start somewhere and remember the more you struggle with it the greater the reward

I am not a muslim but I believe in God and I believe in Gods ways. I believe there are many things God can do for the world and US ! I do know that a heart felt prayer does wonders with God, and I refuse to put myself in a BOX that I have to pray a certain way except a heart felt prayer. You are on a journey that requires only YOUR truthfulness between you and the MAKER. Talk to Him like you would talk to me.....

May the peace, blessing and mercy of Allah be upon you

Firstly, try and say this before you pray, it is one the best intentions to make,

I have turned my face sincerely towards He who has brought forth the heavens and the Earth and I am not of those who associate (others with Allah). Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are for Allah, Lord of the worlds, no partner has He, with this I am commanded and I am of the Muslims. O Allah, You are the Sovereign, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant, I have wronged my own soul and have acknowledged my sin, so forgive me all my sins for no one forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of characters for none can guide to it other than You, and deliver me from the worst of characters for none can deliver me from it other than You. Here I am, in answer to Your call, happy to serve you. All good is within Your hands and evil does not stem from You. I exist by your will and will return to you. Blessed and High are You, I seek Your forgiveness and repent unto You.’

Here are some other supplications/innovations you can make

A'oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem.

(Say:) I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast. (Do this three times reciting in Arabic.)

Also I find its very important to know the words you are saying in prayer, study what English translation of Surah Fatiha, to know what you are saying

Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you!
Firstly, six chapters is perfect, and you're not "obligated" to recite any chapter (except "Fatiha" and another one after it).
Now, during prayer, what I've learned is that you just "have" to knoe EXACTLY what you're reciting while praying and really focus on that. Sometimes, it helps me even more to close my eyes while praying. Think about death, think about grave-life, think about how you're standing in front of GOD so how can you think of something else? This is probably one of the only times in which you talk to God, so make it honest and sincere. Think of it as though you're denying Allah His Right for you to pray to Him.
Also, it'll help further if you calmly and sincerely ask God to help you pray to Him with pure concentration. Trust me, this has ALWAYS helped me. So, try to ask Him to help you concentrate on your prayers, and He will.
How to increase your Imaan?
You can do this in infinite ways that even I can think of right now.
-- Always be a good human being, to yourself and to others around you, including plants and animals.
-- Respect your parents, most of all; be good to them, pray to God to have mercy on them and to guide them to the Right Path.
-- When you pray for others in general, for whatever as long as it's a good prayer, you get blessings from God. So be generous, and offer prayers often for others. And remember: Even smiling at others, even strangers, is counted as charity by God! Isn't that just beautiful? :D
-- The largest branch of Imaan is considered to be Kalma Tayyiba ("There's no god for worship except the One God), and the smallest one is taking a rock or stick or branch off the pathway so that no one trips on it. If nothing else, at least take a stone (even if small!) off the road so no one's tires get busted due to it. And you'll feel SOOO good doing this!! Trust me, it's a wonderful feeling.
-- Fulfill your responsibilites to the BEST of your ability, and those that you don't succeed in fulfilling, ask God to forgive you for them. You have rights over others, and others have rights over you, so be sure you give them those rights (helping poor, teachings kids good things, etc.).
-- Give charity often, and whatever you do, make sure it's something that will please God. You're blessed as long as God is happy with you, and you can receive His Happiness very easily. Have you ever done good for others and felt sooooo good just yourself?.... When that happens, understand that God is happy with you. And when God's happy with you, your Imaan most certainly has been increased!
-- Read the Quran for guidance and for understanding to further increase your Imaan.
-- Try to be active in your community. By this, I simply mean do things like, visit the Senior Center (if they exist in your area), intending to make Allah happy by entertaining the seniors in the best (halaal) manner possible; sit and talk with the elders there since most are quite lonely and depressed. I also mean for you to spend time with kids, playing with them, teaching them good things, reading to them, and so on; feed the hungry, the poor, the homeless, those at the shelter (poor people are all over no matter where you live).

Well, I know this may be too much, but believe me, even the smallest good thing you can think of can help increase your imaan and get you to heaven! It's not that hard, you see.

Try talking to God in prayer as if he were right there with you, have a conversation with God, he hears you. Ask God to help you to concentrate more in the name of Jesus.

Focus. You must control your own mind, because if you don't, someone else will.
