My dad owns a red meat company that does quite well. I have been taught these little tid bits that make that steak extra juicy and enjoyable (espescially with a nice red wine) First of all, get your meat from a good butcher who knows what he is doing. you need not marinate for long. I use just plain Italian dressing. Not my favourite to use in anything but it adds a lot of flavour to the meat. To be sure that the steak doesn't lose the juiciness, DO NOT use a fork to turn it over while cooking. When you use a fork, it allows the juices to spurt out and makes the meat less tender and with a steak, that is the last thing that you want. Also remember: the closer the heat the tougher the meat. (and that doesn't just apply to steak) Bon Appetite! P.S My fav is New York also. And don't forget Montreal steak spice, you can buy that in the spice area of your grocery store, and don't forget the garlic sauted mushrooms! Gotta have those for sure.

I like fillet Mignon. I usually wash the fillet and put it in a bowl that has a lid. I add about 1/2 cup of olive oil, 2-3 cloves of garlic (minced), fresh cracked pepper, a few shakes of Worcestershire sauce and a pinch of dried tarragon. I let that hang out in the covered bowl in the refrigerator for about an hour before grilling outside on the grill. As an aside, asparagus, green beans or broccoli go really well with meat as a side dish.

take a big plastic bag and put the steak with the marinade in it. seal the bag completely and shake it around covering the whole steak. then let it sit for whatever the marinating time is. it sounds a little unorthodox, but it works really well. then grill it! since it's cold outside, use a gas grill inside your garage (if you have one). my family and i love to do that. and my favorite steak is flank. very little fat and very tender meat.

All you need is salt, pepper and olive oil!
Do a salt and pepper rub on each side and add a bit of olive oil and let the steak sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before grilling/baking/ pan frying.
I promise it'll be tasty!
Good luck!

I like to use Italian Salad dressing and marinate overnight. Then grill the next day..I use this even for roasts that I do on the grill...usually a roast takes an hour on the grill. My fav steak is the Ribeye. :-)

marinating a steak is a two fold task ...1 to add flavor.....2 to tenderize .... you need something acidic to tenderize ... like lime or lemon juice, vinegar, etc...I make many marinades but i still come back to my favorite .... the band name is Allegro original flavor ... use enough in a zip lock bag to cover the steak when the air is squeezed out... my favorite steak is the sirloin and i will marinate one 1 3/4 " thick for up to 2 days ....and it is Delicious and tender...

You can use soy, honey, garlic and onion powder. What about chilli, lime and garlic. Chinese 5 spice powder, bbq sauce and lemon. Experiment, and have fun.
