Try a product from the pharmacy that temporarily numbs the gum. Also take Aleve; it will help a great deal. Gargling with warm salt water may help; not sure. Hurry to the dentist.

Try oragel. Also swish salt water around in your mouth. I just saw an article where a kid died from an abscess where the bacteria got into his brain. Not trying to scare you, but do get it looked at right away.

maybe a crushed aspirin ( you kind of make a paste with a little water and crushed aspirin) applied directly to the swollen gum area and take something like Tylenol extra strength or aleve --- that's what an on-line nurse told me to try -- or maybe get Orajel http://www.orajel.com/ or Anbesol http://www.anbesol.com/ from a store -- like Walgreen's or Kmart or Walmart in the Pharmacy section -- I think they cost like $5.99 or $6.99

tylenol or an over the counter pain killer. Or dissolve an aspirin in your mouth at that sight. Tylenol or Ibuprophen would be the best bet
