Why were we put on this Earth?

There's no "bought into" or "put on". We evolved from the simplest life form into what we are. You imply purpose where the term is absolutely meaningless.
Now if you want to create or define a purpose for yourself, like "serving your fellow man", "protecting the environment", "wooing women" or anything else, you're of course free to do so - just back up the words with action.

This is not a "simple" question ! I could type all night and get into a LOT of areas, BUT ! To answer the first , It is to reflect what is already done in the heavens. God and His Holy Spirit are a Family of two. They made man in Their Image to start a family on earth and to eventually become a family with God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ in the coming Kingdom of God. God's Master Plan is to populate the Universe with His Family.

We Were Brought Into Existence because we desired it , now we want to become god as we have acquired the intelligence to know that he is the supreme and we want to be supreme. This is our basic nature. the path back is by the three modes knowledge, unattached work & pious religious love for god. through these ways one will acheive the necessary qualification to dissolve his ego (I am ness ) and merge into the universal self.

purely chance we decide our or determine our purpose .
the universe come from chaos or ignorance and we developed intelligence over our extensive short time here .

I see life as a test...We must struggle through all the hardships and awful things that may happen to us...and see if we survive throught all of it to the end.
