Try this: weigh yourself, then wrap up in saran wrap and weigh yourself again. If you are heavier, it was a lie and you have a good scale.

The only thing that it will do is put pressure on your skin and probably stop your skin from being able to 'breathe,' (which could lead to irritation, dehydration, rashes, acne bumps, etc.) You may sweat off a pound of water, but you will eventually gain back the water loss when you drink fluids later on because you feel dehydrated.

Once you drink something the weight will come right back.
Who ever says on Yahoo! Answers or anywhere that it does make you lose weight is a liar.

No, this will definitely not help you lose weight!

Furthermore, wrapping yourself up *tightly* in that plastic stuff could cause your damage to your internal organs. You may not be able to physically breathe through your chest/stomach. You may even be putting yourself at risk of suffocation while you sleep!

Do NOT do this! You will not lose weight from this bizarre idea!

Ok, while you will technically loose some weight this way, it's not real weight loss (it's just water, you'll gain it back the first time you drink anything) and it's generally a bad idea, your skin needs to "breathe" (loosing a bit of water via sweat is normal, even if you're not hot) and trapping the water near your skin could lead to bacteria growing in it and a risk for infection, as well as local irritation (which isn't really dangerous, but who needs a rash?)

What it does is hold in your body heat and cause you to sweat. But that would take a lot of saran wrap. You might be better off working out in a sauna suit.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Why smother your body? it won't help. your body needs to breath. It would be more beneficial to take a sauna and swim an hour. The best thing to do is eat right (see a dietitian) and your Dr. exercise, walk, and or dance.
