Buddhists are not supposed to share the dhamma unless asked. To do otherwise would be very disrespectful...

Jehovah's Witnesses began talking to people in their homes a very long time ago. Society was very different then, and many people welcomed strangers to their doors and - in fact - into their homes.
Today, times are much different, but Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons are still doing things the same way. In many ways, both these groups are stuck in their past, showing a dislike for anything that represents a change in the way they carry out their ministry.
If either group truly cared about spreading their message, there are far more efficient ways to do so. If the life-style examples were so compelling, they would not have to go door-to-door to convert.
Fundies ARE weak in their beliefs, at least in my opinion. That does not mean they are wrong for not wanting to disturb your Saturday morning football game, however.

All religions have fundamentalist groups and sects, however if you live in the United States and depending on where you live Christianity is a major religion...they all want to "save you." but it's easy to get rid of them, just tell them that they need a liscense to solisite. Other religions are normally more passive, although yes they too have fundamentalist groups, however they are not as common in the US and they are usually more passive than the Christian fundamentalists.

I'm not a "Religious Fundie," but Buddhism doesn't preach "convert/save others." It's more of an individual's inner journey, and is based on stillness/revering life. Being overbearing/forcing others to change is contrary to Buddhism. A Buddhist might entice you to question your experiences, and deepen your spiritual outlook (if you bring it up).

I'm a pentecostal and we don't go door to door but we do do outreach things in our city to show people random acts of kindness and we witness not recruit. We tell people the truth of Jesus, they are the ones that make a choice to believe or not.

I think they like you. I mean, like you, like you. Like, you know, more than friends. I think they went to kiss you. Let Jehovah witness a widdle bit of spit-swapping. I have Buddhists and Muslims knocking on my door all the time. It's either the $3.00 lay or they're pissed I burnt the Buddha or Mohammed in front of their houses. Usually both. We make up. It's all good.

Reaching out to others is not a sign of weakness. I imagine it takes a lot of surety in ones beliefs to risk the rejection you might face "cold-calling" at someones door.

Fundies (non-denominational) also want to let you know that Jesus shed His blood and died on the cross,On the third day rose again. He shed his blood to pay all mens' debt of sin.If you are in on a railroad track and a Union Pacific train si coming at you (60mph) and a person hollers and screams to tell you the train is coming fast.Should you mock the person and laugh.Should you call the person names like "idiot" and "fundy"?Should you stand and thank about it? I hope you choose to jump."freewill": what do you choose?

Jesus told us to "go and make disciples of all nations."
Give me your address and I promise I will never knock on your door on a Saturday or Sunday. I will come during the week, when you apparently want the company.

I'll put it this way in hopes that you can understand and not take offense. If you woke up at 3am and seen your neighbors house on fire wouldnt you do all you could to get them out? You'd pound on the door, break a window and even drag them out if you had to. Thats how a Christian sees an unbeliever, someone who needs saved from the burning pits of hell. Its hard for unbelievers to see our point of view and I know because I use to be one of them. I just know how God changed my life. I tell everyone. try Jesus and you dont like Him, the devil will always take you back..lol. God bless
