We bought frozen chicken and got side tracked on the way home. The chicken was almost unthawed by the time we go home. Can it be refrozen?

funny, i'm in the middle of being certified in safe food handling...

you have a 4 hour danger zone...

if you're outside of that you should be fine.

No, not a good move. Chicken contains so much bacteria that it is practically unsuitable for eating anyway....

Not the chookies fault, just the unhygenic conditions they are exposed to and the slaughtering process.

Very bad idea. Chicken and chopped meat both spoil very quickly and once defrosted should be cooked at once.

You should never refreeze raw chicken. If you cook it you can freeze it and then heat and eat it at a later date.

NO! From working in a chicken restaurant, chickens are only good for SEVEN(7) days after they are killed. Do Not, I repeat, do not re-freeze NO MEAT, NEVER! It is not healthy at all, don't do it, PLEASE DO NOT RE-FREEZE MEAT!

It may often be okay to do it, but it is generally considered to be a NO-NO.
