I'm useless on dates but my best guess is 50 years - and I haven't missed it one iota. I'm 65 now.

I have never attended church.

Briefly, when I was 4 (over 40 years ago), I went a few times to a Unitarian Sunday School.

I've been to a few weddings, and one funeral.

But I've never attended a church, or been a member of any church.

Two years and three months. I was informally and subtly excommunicated for reasons I will probably never know. You can't get a straight answer out of a church person! I've become closer to God as a result and I strongly suspect that I'm better off spiritually.

I'm invited many times, but I am of an age where listening to the same trick questions about my studies and Pagans have become boring. Once I was actually allowed into a pulpit and spoke of the Burning Times.

I also tire of the coffee, muffins and old blue haired ladies that want to lead me to Jesus---and when can I stop by their house. They know I'm married. What they don't know is that my wife is Irish, a red head, and once taught at police academies.

My husband and I went last Sunday, but we aren't going tomorrow, because I broke a toe last Thursday and he doesn't want me to have to 'walk' to church or even to the bus stop. We'll probably go next Sunday though ... I'll go see a doctor on Monday and see if it can't be 'splinted' or something in a way I can still wear a 'shoe' on that foot.

For me, much more recently. A brother in law performed a concert in a church a year or so ago.

When I was in Catholic Elementary school and we HAD to go every day...36 years ago. Since then I've been in churches, but only for weddings, funerals and baptisms.

I went to a wake a few weeks ago cause my friend died. The Catholic priest was very vocal about how this is why we should BELIEVE. I was thinking eww. Before that i was in St. Patrick in NYC with my family. They were lighingting candles.
