Chapter 28 - Thought Waves
Thought waves are about 10,000 times faster than light waves. We really don't even know if they travel in a normal way; they may simply jump from start to impact. They, or at least their spirit/aura, may be unstoppable in terms of quantum physics.
Of course, thought waves can be detected as they zoom to us or through us or maybe even past us. Only by forensic analysis of their results do we know anything about "what we are thinking about"; thought waves.
Although we know not what they are*, we can use thought waves to accomplish a variety of tasks. Why? Because thought waves can be produced in a variety of sizes and intensities.
*We know how to create them and, we know how to detect them. But, we know nothing of their atomic structure or the material from whence they are made.
Thought waves, when small in diameter and long in duration, can be used to communicate faster and more accurately than anything that has ever come before in science or technology.

When the thought wave is human size it can teleport you, so to say, wherever you direct your thoughts; or scarily wherever any empowered thought wave machine directs its thoughts.
Regardless of size, a thought wave travels at the effective speed of "instantaneous". However, whether it travels or not is dependent on its power source in relationship to its size and mass. The bigger the load is to carry, the more powerful the energy source required.
By using anti-matter, the most powerful energy source in the Universe, to drive thought wave amplifiers, space travel becomes a rather real time "destination now" experience.

You are thinking of the mind on a metaphysical level, i.e., how long can the mind stretch? How much does a thought weigh? Can I touch my mind? Can I wash a thought?
You are applying real-world, physical sensations and actions to an incorporeal mind.
Is it magic? My opinion it sometimes feels like it.
Does it shape the future? Yes, because it allows you to communicate with yourself what you will do in the future.
Does it instantaneously shape the future? Sorry, but no.

I believe they vary in size and impact but you don't still believe in magic do you ? Try having a thought without a
