Everyone here has already given you good advice for you to think over before you get a tattoo.
The only additional caution I would give you? Please don't get your name tattooed on you ... unless you're planning to forget yours & will need a reminder of what it is!
And although everyone here has mentioned that you will be stuck with a tattoo for life, that's actually not entirely factual.
Tattoos USED to be permanent. You CAN get them removed now (I had 8, now I have 3), but the process is expensive, lengthy, and OH MY GOODNESS... PAINFUL!!!!!!!!! It is MUCH MORE painful than actually having a tattoo done in the first place! AND it can leave you with discoloured skin that will never change, especially if your skin is sensitive.
Consider all these things first, my dear!

try to think of something that suits you, so many people have butterflies and flowers, try to think of something that expresses your personality. Get it somewhere which is easy to cover up for when you're at work or in formal situations. Also somewhere, where the tattoo won't stretch as your body weight changes over your lifetime. Make sure you're ready and the tattoo is exactly what you want because once it's done it's pretty hard to go back.

The best advice is to give up the idea of a tattoo and pay more attention to English and Writing classes in school. You obviously cannot spell simple words and your whole paragraph was a bit much. So........ Pay more attention at school then getting tatto's to look cooler. Need brains before bronz

All really good answers. It should be something that speaks to you. Something that you won't mind having there always. Unless you want that same rose 4 million other people have, make it something you designed or had designed for you. Don't pick a design off the wall or out of a book.

Get something that acutally means something to you, not just a generic picture. My friend got an awesome tattoo on his back with a cross and a bunch of intricate designing and around it dedicated to his dad.

There's lots of other places on your body besides a butt and a face. That's something you're going to have to choose....a bunch of strangers shouldn't make that decision for you.

i'm thinking that if you don't know "what" or "where", then you need to think long and hard about getting it at all. make sure it's something you want on your body for the rest of your life. it's not up to a bunch of strangers to tell you.
