Highly educated, yes. Well-to-do...not in my case.

There are several studies that tie education to atheism in a pretty strong way. Income probably follows that.
That certainly describes my family of two atheists and one too young. I have a BS, my wife has two Masters degrees. We do make great money now, but that is the result of hard work and being poor for a while. I certainly was not that way when I became an atheist.

Probably yes. This doesn't mean that religious people are poor and stupid (indeed, many of history's greatest minds were devout in their religion, whatever it was). But, probably because such a group of people are more likely to be satisfied with their lot in life, and don't neccessarily feel the need to believe in God. Partially (especially with the highly educated) there is a certain arrogance in the equation...

Am I well to-do? Nope.
Can I afford much of anything? Not really.
Am I highly educated? If a M.S. in engineering counts, then yes.
...
It looks like I'm 1 out of 3 at best.

Don't think so, I know some pretty poor uneducated atheists. I also know some very well do to highly educated Christians, so really what has beliefs got to do with it

I don't think that being well to-do, wealthy, and highly educated has a lot to do with religion. However, statistically, most people on the planet are in poverty. So I'm going to guess that most people of any religion or lack thereof are poor, and not well educated.

sure, I don't see why not. Religion does not deal with education. Atheists do not rely on the luck of a God to do well, it's called studying, working your *** off, and following your dream. Nothing is "handed" to you in this world, and that includes atheists as well I suppose. Truth is, it's all random. Ask Bill Gates, he's an atheist, and he's pretty rich.

I don't know, but all of my Atheist friends are highly educated and aren't hurting for money. I wouldn't say wealthy, but in a higher tax bracket than most people.

I'm certainly not well-to-do. I'm a struggling writer in a tiny apartment. I have a bachelor's degree and I am going to eventually get my master's and PhD, but I don't even plan on going into a career that will make me wealthy.

Nope. I'm not well-to-do or can-afford. I have a college degree - is that highly educated? Hmmm.
Hug. Have a nice day!
