the best engine is the Boss 429 of course!

The best engine in my opinion is a 351. It gets power and still doesn't use as much fuel as a 428. Although a 428 is a highly sought after collector item. If you have a '69 stang and are trying to sell it prices can range anywhere from 10k to 80k depending on the condition and engine. Just a stock good condition 1969 mustang (not shelby, mach1, gt350, gt500) can probably get a sell price of around 10k.

The conversion factor is something like 60.4 cubic inches to a liter. Check with Ford racing to find a crate engine or Rousch if you're looking for HI-performance parts. The best engine would depend on what you want to do with the car. A 351 should be a good all around engine for you. The avg. price is going to vary so much, it's hard to say. Anywhere from 500 for a rust bucket to 50,000 or more for a frame up low mileage special edition. I would think you could check on eBay or yahoo motors to find what the are selling for. Good luck

a 302 is 5.0, a 351 is 5.8, a 428 is 7.0 if you have a 428 stang, put it in a museum. if you can find a 351 with a 4bbl, that's a good motor.
