Please, be as detailed as you can.

I'm not a believer, I'm simply curious as to what people think it will be.

Thanks.

I have no vision of the after life, if there is one. I simply don't believe in it. Having nothing to base choosing best answer on, this one goes to vote.

The Heathen afterlife is much complex and varied then most common religions. It goes much beyond the typical paradise, earth, underworld structure that most people are familiar with. There are nine worlds, divided into many layers all connected to Yggdrasil (the world tree) There is no “either-or” destination after death. For Asatru, heaven was being with their ancestors after death and Hell (that is the Christian idea of Hell) would have been spending the after life without one's ancestors or Gods.

I am going to skip over all the possible destination because there are many and talk about the most famous of all. Vahalla! Valhalla is reserved for Odin’s chosen warriors, Einherjar, but keep in mind that Valhalla is not the only hall in Asgard. Depending upon which Gods one devoted themselves to in life, the soul could go to any of the various God or Goddesses’ halls. While the Christian idea of Heaven is signing hallelujah, strumming on harps, and setting on fluffy white clouds… the Heathen “Heaven” is very rowdy in contrast. You are reunited with your kin. There is much feasting and merry-making at night, not too mention during the day battles in which you can never get killed.

There's a beautiful poem that I wish I could find online that sums up the Norse afterlife. I could type it up, but I don't know the author. :(

Okay here is is, I think it's one of the most beautiful poems I've read about the afterlife. I am kicking myself for not writing down where I found it.

"On Heimdall's rainbow bridge
I stand and cast a lofty eye
On Asgard's great and lofty halls
Where my desires lie

There generous fruits that never fail
On trees immortal grow
There rocks and hills and brooks and valleys
With mead and honey flow

Soon will the Gods my soul prepare
For joy beyond the twilight sky
Where never ceasing pleasure roll
And kinship never dies"

A theory for your consideration: Heaven and Hell is here on Earth. The destination is in the eyes of the beholder. Life is the journey navigating through both. After death, who can really say. I personally find the Christian explanation a little too unnatural and therefore unrealistic. In nature or life in general, the only thing that is eternal or infinite is change. Eternal stagnation weather it be happiness or pain simply does not exists in a world of logic and common sense.

My image changes from serious to funny.
I think heaven is like most of the cartoons of heaven I read in newspaper; to the serious type heaven like in "It's a Wonderful Life" where angels deal in helping life and death faith issues. I also like "Angels in the Outfield", and "Ghost" (well in that heaven is a loving light that envelopes the soul and merges together, bringing peace).
I would imagine, and that's what you asked me to do, that if capable GOD would send you on errands and you'd be busy doing GODs work.
I also think in heaven you have overwhelming contentment and Peace, no stress, etc. and you feel connected to GOD, which makes you tingle in happiness.
Oh, comedians are a good source of material for views of heaven.
Oh, so far I have only been positive.
Being negative - not being rewarded with heaven - I would not care to dwell on thinking about. The absence of being in the presence of GOD seems bad enough. I guess there would be fire, etc. - well documented ideas of hell, that kind of thing.
I hope I was of some help ...

much like this life , but without the heartache
i am told that the spiritual body is like taking a heavy overcoat off ... such freedom and lightness
the after life i am told also is like this life , in that we have jobs , hobbies , friends
that we can learn , play , wander
that we have great music halls , libraries , lecture halls , theatre etc
that everyone is glorious colour , colours that are not on our spectrum
that the air is sweet and warm
that we do not need to speak to communicate , it is done with thought and feeling
that we wear garments suitable for our spiritual development , the colours and materials are like badges of honour so to speak
that there are different levels to this afterlife , most of us will be on the same level inititally , but progress through the levels

We believe in Paradise and Hell. Paradise is the abode of enjoyment which God, the Exalted, prepared for the righteous. The blessing they enjoy there, no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard of, and no human being has ever imagined: "No soul knows what comfort is kept hidden for them, as a reward for that which they used to do." (32:17) Hell is the abode of punishment which God has prepared for the unbelievers and the evildoers. The torture and horror in it cannot be imagined

I think you already know that I believe in the concept of rebirth as a Buddhist... I chirp about it in here enough but if you're wisely ignoring me most of the time, that's how I see things. You can find more info about it on buddhanet.net and various Buddhist websites.

Planet H (Heaven) is very similar to Planet Earth, except it is about 8 billion years more advanced. (I wrote a book based on that presumption "God's Ancestors".

A confined space, little air, and the scent of wet dirt and worms.

My answer is sincere, I do not believe an afterlife exists.
