Jesus only had one purpose when He came into the world. He did not come to have a wife and family. If He did have a wife and family it would not have changed the reason He was here

It is not that it would be wrong that Jesus had a wife and children if that is what the Bible said about him. It is because the Bible does not say this that we object to the accusation. We feel that if this was a fact, God would have had the Bible authors write about it. What better way would there have been to teach men how to treat their wives? Right? It not only says something that is not in the Bible, it also gives the impression that Jesus was a mere mortal man rather than the Son of God. What purpose would a wife have served to him? His whole teen and adult life was dedicated to serving God and ONLY serving God. A wife would have been a hinderence.

Even though its followers try to deny it Christianity is still a religion that considers sex a sin. It is allowed in marriage for the purposes of procreation and that's pretty much it. Modern followers may feel pleasure is allowed but the religion itself has not caught up with that idea.
If Christ married and had children he would have had to have had sex. This would have cast sin upon him, it'd be forgiven as it would have been to bear children, but he would still have had to sin. This would make him imperfect.
Different sects of Christianity approach this subject differently and, thus, some sects feel less threatened by the idea of Christ having a wife or child.
Personally, I think that if God's earthly being were to have such a strong and loving relationship it couldn't possibly make Him less perfect.
Besides, if Christ could marry and have children then the Catholic Church might have to actually allow its clerics to do so as well.
PS: Jan P: If my husband, boyfriend, or lover was hanging around with 12 guys all the time I could think of a few more fun questions to ask than "Why aren't you with me?".

You can't control people as completely as certain religions do unless you control their sexuality. It was in the interests of early Christianity to make Jesus (and his mother) look pure...virginal, so they could instill the false belief that he was the son of God and had no "earthly" needs. If Jesus married and had a child, he'd be a little too human for their liking.
I hope that DNA testing on these remains found in the tombs shows that Mary and Joseph were Jesus' parents, and that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were the parents of Judah. Then the Catholic church could explain why its clergy still isn't allowed to marry and have families.

You don't have to close your mind to theories or ideas. You should just be willing to be convinced by the weight of evidence, no matter what the question is.
There would be nothing wrong with Jesus having a wife and children if that had been in God's plan for his Son. But it wasn't. Jesus came to earth on a mission and that mission involved laying down his life as payment for the sins of all who would believe on Him at around the age of 33 years old.
It would have been irresponsible of Him to have started a family and then left them to fend for themselves while He ascended up to Heaven. He even took pains while on the cross to make sure that his mother who was by then a widow had someone to take care of her since as the oldest son in the family that would have been his job.
John 19:25 but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son!" 27 Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother!" And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.

If you believe that Jesus is God in the flesh, then He could not have married and had children because then He'd be a hypocrite. Remember that He punished the angels for taking wives of the daughters of men and He cast them out of heaven. If He took a human wife then He'd be doing the very same thing He punished the angels for doing.

I think he might have had a wife and a kid except I am not suppose to think it because Christianity believes that Jesus was god, but if he was god why did he need to come as a baby from MAry? he could have just come down here does not make sense to me. Anyway but quran says that when he comes back he is going to have a wife and kids so he did not have a wife back then.

It is wrong because there is no evidence, Biblical or otherwise. That is why.
Mary was Jesus' mother, and He told John, while on the cross, to take her into his home and take care of her. Mary Magdalene was there as well. If they were married, Jesus would have provided for her as well. Do you think after the resurrection that Jesus would have known that Mary M. was pregnant with their child? Yet, when He spoke to her, she called Him "teacher", not "husband", and neither spoke of activity in the womb. A little common sense is needed here.

Because unbelievers are trying desperately to rewrite history saying that Jesus was not the son of God, that he was just a dude and did NOT ascend to Heaven.
The problem is there is no positive evidence that even suggests Jesus was married. It is just something unbelievers are trying to read into history in order to discredit Christianity. We are open to the truth, but not a propaganda stunt.

First of all Jesus spent 3 years teaching His disciples how to be leaders by the living example He gave them. He didn't have time for a wife. And have you heard anywhere a woman asking why He was spending all that time with those 12 men and not spending time with her? With the 12 men there all the time, one of them would have said something.
