You are absolutely correct. That is probably what they thought. I have not read any where that Jesus spoke as an infant. That is why faith was sooooo important then and now. May God Bless U.

What do you mean did Jesus talk as a baby. He was like any other baby. Mary didn't make it known. the angel of the Lord came to Joseph, Mary's husband and told him. This is why she was not stoned as an adulteress. Joseph believed god. The Magi, again by the Word of God, they knew. The Shepherds, an Angel tells them. Jesus made himself known by his trip to the temple at age 12, and then again when he started his ministry at age 30. No talking baby, sorry, you have bad information. Your point about the walking on water and a talking baby answers itself. If Jesus had wanted to talk as a baby, he could have, but he didn't, therefore, that is why it is not in the bible, so it is not true.

God protected baby Jesus. Mary and Joseph got married. She was probably going to be stoned at the time if God did not protect her. Angel was busy at the time. I am sure they kept a low profile, and they did not tell the truth to too many people.
Why would people tell that Jesus walked on the water if He did not? I believe the Bible record.

It is entirely possible that Mary was accused of infidelity. The record we have indicates that Joseph, KNOWING he had not impregnated Mary, wanted to cancel the wedding. He did not, however, seek to prosecute her for infidelity (interestingly enough). That might indicate that he (Joseph) suspected Mary had been sexually abused while away from home for 3 months (at Zacarias' and Elizabeth's house), and was pregnant due to such abuse. Judea WAS a Roman-occupied country at the time. Such things happened.
Mary accepted the risk of being labeled a liar, or insane, or worse, when she accepted the job of carrying God's Son. In that regard, she accepted the same risk as any prophet. We know that most of THEM were rejected, and subjected to slander, arrest, and abuse. Mary would have been in good company. Remember how the other prophets were treated? Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, David? They weren't all heaped with honors either. Mary was carrying the incarnate Word of God. OF COURSE PEOPLE WOULD ASSUME SHE WAS LYING.
"Come ON, Mary. You CAN'T expect us to believe such a story. WE know where babies come from! Besides, what makes YOU think you are so good and virtuous, that God would choose YOU for such a task??? Who do YOU think you are??? You're just a simple country girl from a backwater town, with dirt on your face. Why would God choose you, and not somebody better? More virtuous? Prettier?" yada yada yada
Those who accept the responsibility of carrying God's word (whether physical or verbal) accept the risk of slander and attack. It's just part of the job description. A "talking baby" would have made no difference. Jesus performed many miracles in front of thousands of people during His earthly lifetime. The religious leaders STILL rejected Him as Messiah. In doing so, they fulfilled scripture, and paved the way for His sacrifice on the cross.

You really don't know scripture very well do you? God knew that people would not believe that Mary was a virgin when she conceived Jesus. The spirit came to Joseph and told him what was done and instructed him to take Mary as his wife regardless. I doubt very much if Mary herself ever told anyone that she was made pregnant by the Holy Spirit other than perhaps the mother of John the Baptist who was conceived and born just slightly before Jesus. They were both pg at the same time and according to scripture, John "lept" in his mothers womb when Mary came to visit them. John's mother then said to Mary..Blessed is the fruit of thy womb"

faith which venerates saints is a human interpretation of the Bible, which needless to say states that Jesus is the Son of God, and the only thank you to God. Mary replaced right into a vessel which carried that seed, from which Jesus, the way, replaced into born.Venerating Mary is like venerating airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust the place seeds strengthen. Mary is to be respected and venerated as much as any human, yet no longer prayed to. She has Jesus' ear no greater effective than any human. Jesus loves us all.

"and Mary treasured up all these things in here heart..." Luke 2 something. There's nothing saying that Mary told anyone about Jesus. Regardless, once Jesus was born they fled to Egypt for a few years to escape Herod. So because they didn't know anyone in Egypt, or at least closely, it wasn't evident that Jesus was born before they were married.

God spoke to Joseph in a dream so Joseph accepted Mary and protected her. When you think about the culture at that time it was a brave thing to do. Mary didn't tell people about much of what God said to her. She held it in her heart until Jesus began his ministry.

I'm glad for you that you're curious because, I think you would enjoy learning all about the beautiful IMMACULATE CONCEPTION. Joseph himself didn't believe MARY when she told him that the HOLY SPIRIT had come to her and told her of the impending pregnancy, so he took her away and they went to the city of Bethlehem, which fulfilled another prophecy, that THE CHRIST would be born to a virgin, in Bethlehem. There were no rooms available to them, so they stayed in a stable, where JESUS was born in a manger.

Angels delivered the message of His arrival to select people. The coming of the Messiah was expected by the Jewish people. Most just thought He would come in a grandeur manner to deliver them from Roman rule.
