My sister had hip replacement surgery Monday. Went home Thurs. Back in the hospital tonight with complications. I'd like everyone to pray for her. Her name is Barbara S. Thanks.

Prayer in itself does not heal, but God has the power to heal. Read in your bible -- Jesus tells you to pray to him with other believers.

I'll add her to my nightly 'prayer list' ... and I know that prayer heals ... I had a 'cyst' on the inside of my thigh that the doctor was going to 'take out' but I had to take 'antibiotics' for a week before the surgery because my 'immune system' was depressed. Every night, my husband put his hand over that cyst and 'prayed' silently ... and when I went to have the surgery done, the CYST was 'completely gone' and all the doctor had to do was 'take out the sac' it had been in and sew me up.

I believe positive thoughts help. So yes a prayer would be a positive thought

It has for me, but it has to be done with an open and honest heart, God don't make deals. Just ask for His help. That is the way I believe. (It never hurts in either case)

i personally don't believe that PRAYER itself helps, but being hopeful helps. so prayer can cause someone to feel more helpful. depression can speed the process of illness.

i dont think prayer does anything but make people feel like they can help when theres nothing else they can do. i wish your sister all the best and i hope she has good doctors
