also teach school. Every day consists of running my girls around after school to their activities. Most weekends I have my girls because their dad has a very demanding job. I just feel like I run and run and give and give all the time. Sometimes I get so tired and I often wonder if things will ever let up and life will get a little easier..does anyone else feel that way?

I have a year old girl and my hubby is deployed. I know exactly what your going through. You run around all day waiting for that 'me time' and by time you have time to yourself you're so tired you just wanna go to bed. :)

Hello Amy, it sounds paradoxical, but having been there and done that, I speak from long experience; what you need is a hobby which creates a small space for yourself in which to recharge your batteries. Seeing you looking after your emotional health will also teach your children a valuable lesson in how to take care of themselves both now and in adult life. Consider taking up Tai Chi - which the whole family can do. Also sounds like your timetable needs rationalising - is everything you do absolutely necessary or could you get the girls to choose which activities are absolutely essential and which could be reduced or omitted. Hope this helps.
Remember that if you have recharged your batteries then you will have not only something to give, but what you give out will be of better quality.
Thinking of you - and yes, it does get easier.

You are not alone. Most single moms I know speak similarly about their lives. Do what you can to get some "me time" by asking for help with transportation and such for your girls. It will be more refreshing than you can imagine.
I am a teacher too, so I understand that element. My wife and I are together, but her job is demanding and I get a large share of the parental duties.
I don't suppose this is much help, but that is an answer to the Q.

Well sweetie, some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug. Hang in there it gets better especially if you join a mom's support group. Call your local mental health for an address.
