Cats are induced ovulators. They are in heat until they mate, then they ovulate and come out of heat. If you don't want kittens but want your cat tom come out of heat, get her spayed. If cost is an issue, look around for a low-cost neuter and spay clinic, or contact your local huane society and ask if they will do it for low-cost. The shelter here has "spay day" a few times i the spring, ad spayig is somewhere around $45-50 for a cat. That is really, really cheap.

Usually they will stay on heat for 2 weeks but sometimes it can last 4 days to 3 weeks.

Not sure because all of my cats get spayed and neutered around 6 months.
I doubt that they go into heat more than once a month. I'm sure that you can "google" it.
Did you know that spaying a cat or dog actually reduces its chances of breast cancer down the line? (Neutering dogs and cats reduces their chances of prostate cancer!) And, of course, spaying and neutering ensures you won't have to deal with "accidental" litters!

4 days to 2 weeks depending on the cat.
On the average they come into heat once a month, but I have had some that cycle every 2 to 3 weeks.
Its best to spay them if you do not intend to breed,
Especially spay if its a mix breed, theres enough cute homeless kitties in the world already.
