Get the Vin# of the car, and Google "Vin# Car Background Checks For Free" or something like that. It will cost you to get a background check, but you can go to Carfax.com I think, and sign up for it and pay a small amount and get the entire Carfax vehicle history report. E-mail me if you have anymore questions!

Good luck!

Try Carfax. If you are buying from a dealer, can you get the name of the previous owner? They may tell you some info on the car.

there are no free ones anymore,if you knew someone who used car fax, they might run it for you ,and even car-fax isn't accurate that much it only has on it whats been entered in to it,if the vehicle was wrecked ,and repaired it may not have ever got turned in to be put on car fax,and that's about it for good sources, all the rest of them are worse than car fax,as far as being accurate on the information, good luck with it,hope this helps.

Get in contact with your local transport authority. You will need the registration number and / or the VIN available if not the chassis number.
