You have to talk to the Air Force recruiter, but the Air Force has a tendency to not let in prior service.

Actually you are out of luck.

The Air Force is in the middle of Force Shaping and is cutting manning by 30,000 airmen by 2009.

Because of that fact, the Air Force is no longer accepting Prior Service Enlistments ,

except in 3 career fields.

Combat Controller
Para Rescue
Linguist

The Air Force National Guard or Air Force Reserve might have different policies.

People tend to forget, that Prior Service Enlistments take a Reenlistment slot, not a regular enlistment slot.

And the Air Force has no problems getting people to Reenlist.

The switch from Army to Air Force may consist of taking some exams, and no the Air Force is NOT easier. If you plan on learning how to fly then your grades must be really, really, really good! Because now when you join the Air Force does not automatically mean you are going to learn how to fly. Get those degrees and grades when joining the Air Force, if you plan on learning how to fly the American sophisticated jets!

um ... first off all services are hard work ..... not one is "easier" than another ........ your just lazy .......... anyway you need to be smart for the Air Foce ............. so you must get at least a passing grade on the ASVAB Test .......... then you must fulfill your contract with the Army then I doubt you have been commisioned since you say the Air Force is easier so you'll need to enlist into the US Air Force and become a fly boy or girl.......... and no I do not think thier is an Air Force base in Manhattan.

You've got the hardest part over with...the boot camp. The air force is not "easy" as in terms of MOS...but it is "easier" to stay out off the front line of battle so to speak...war in Iraq. The recruiter told my son, who is in the Air Force, at the time of signing up that he could switch to another branch if he doesn't like the one he is in. You'd have to do the boot camp all over again in the branch you switch into. I know several ppl with long military careers who have seved in each branch of military. It's awsome to hear their stories. They have completed basic training in each branch! How awsome is that?! I'd talk to an Air Force recruiter if I were you. I'm sure that person could help you answer all your questions. Good luck!

A lobotomy? kidding

A LAT transfer is easy. Talk to the USAF. But seriously, if its easier you are after think about getting out. Why waste your time?
