when u run your fingers across and there is a smooth texture, no bumps. use lubriderm lotion in the meantime. goood stuff, i have 14 tats and i always use that, also, dont use sunblock with alcohol if u can. and NEVER put peroxide for any reason. ( i found that out the hard way).

I put sunblock on my tattoo 3 days after I got it, because I was going to a tanning bed. I haven't ever had any problems with fading. But, everybody's skin absorbs the ink at a different rate. So, unless you've done it before, I would recommend keeping your tattoo protected from the sun for at least 2 weeks after getting it.

Usually 2 weeks after you get it done! Just wait until the scabs fall off then use a very strong sunblock. use like 45+. until then try to keep it covered!

Yes.. putting sun block on your tattoo when you go out will prevent it from fading. I have had a tattoo on my ankle for 14 years. I put sunblock on it whenever I go out in the sun, and it hasn't faded very much at all.

I asked my tattoo artist about that. because when its new you should use sunblock even if you aren't out in the sun because the water can make it fade as well, so anyway he told me about 2 weeks after getting it done.

you can put sunblock on your tattoo anytime after it is healed but that isn't going to protect your ink from being broken down by the rays of the sun. sunscreen is made to protect the skin from the damaging rays of the sun. it is not made to protect the ink. you need to keep your tattoos out of the sun as much as possible.
