H.Pylori can be eradicated, and it's usually not so hard to do so, there are several treatment regimens (usually involving 2 antibiotics and a PPI, so called "triple therapy") that have success rates of between 60-80%. Many people are carriers of this bacterium in their stomachs, however, it's only treated when it causes problems such as ulcers or gastritis. One word of caution though, even if you're treated successfully and the bacterium is completely eliminated, it does not guarantee that you can't be recolonized later and require another round of treatment.
