It is declared in the Bible that Jesus said,"“I tell you the truth, among those born of women, no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is."

If we are to believe the words of Jesus then those who most see as great are no greater that John the Baptist for all were born of women. Even Jesus himself was born or a woman. and while on this earth he was not yet in the kingdom of heaven. He spoke of his kingdom but that was to come after his death on the pole, tree, or cross and then his resurrection.

John may have been thought to have been a great man in his day because of his relationship with Jesus and because he foretold the coming of Jesus. I know that some thought that He was the Saviour that was the fulfillment of the old prophecy. It is possible that Jesus intended us to know that people who are greatly admired are no greater to God than those of us who quietly go about our lives trying to serve Him in the best way that we can. Also, God tells us that we are not to worship anyone other than Him/Jesus. Perhaps the people of that day where becoming worshipful of John just as some people of today are becoming worshipful of a particular preacher. They are but men. No more, no less.

John was the greatest Prophet, making a way for the LORD.

Jesus Is the promised Seed of the Woman (Genesis 3) in addition to being born of a woman. Everyone else is born of the mans seed (with sin nature) & born of a woman. Jesus is the 2nd Adam. He is just like the first Adam before the fall (deceived by the serpent). Jesus was also tempted the same way by the serpent, but without sin.

Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God, you must be born of God, born of His Spirit. So, Jesus Is in His Kingdom 24/7 & also when He walked the earth, just like one of us. John the Baptist wasn't born again yet. John was under the old covenent. The new covenant offers a way for our sins to be atoned for. That we can be born of God, Gods way.

Everyone born of God, are children of the King and part of the Kingdom of God. John the Baptist and the rest of the Old Testament Saints in Abrahams Bosom, went up to the 3rd heaven when Jesus successful got the keys of death & hell and raised from the dead.

Supposedly, John the Baptist was given the task to pave the way for Jesus. You'll notice in Jesus' quote that he sort of slams him, "yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he," It's really hard to say whether he was great or not. And on another note, when John was jailed, he sent his disciples to Jesus and they asked, "are you the one who is to come, or do we look for another?" It's really difficult to figure out. It sounds like both of them were confused. There has also been talk that John was supposed to be the messiah, and/or that John and Jesus were double messiahs, but John was beheaded, and Jesus was left to fill the role.

John the Baptist was called to be the immediate front-runner for Jesus himself....God become man. No-one else had that privilege. Yet John was not Christian and therefore the least one in the kingdom of God is greater than he -- simply because he is a Christian and has God within him.

merely opt for to function my concepts. Evergreen, the account re. the transfiguration--the place Jesus replaced into viewed conversing with Moses and Elijah--would not tutor that those prophets are in heaven. What the apostles observed replaced right into a imaginitive and prescient--in on the instant's language a action picture! Do you assert which you observed Frank Sinatra's soul, (or any lifeless action picture famous guy or woman) whenever you spot a play decrease back of previous video clips? of direction no longer. in case you proceed examining that account, you will see that Jesus advised his disciples to no longer tell all people with regard to the action picture (ok imaginitive and prescient, or television ). this question quite exposes the errors people who opt for to interpret the Bible to slot their perception. Humble human beings could desire to enable the Bible perfect their ideals, no longer any different way around.

John, positionally was greater than any man born, because he was given the assignment of heralding the comming of Messiah,(Jesus, the Christ).

Not sure if this was what you were looking for...I sort of went cross-eyed on part of your question.

The "those born of woman" he was talking about was Prophets (read the lines right before those) and Jesus was not a Prophet he was God himself. "I myself will supply the sacrificial lamb" he told Abraham. He meant this totally.

I'm not sure I see your point of view completely. But I can say for sure that nobody is equal to or greater than God.

You always have to be careful of the colloquialisms of the day. Translation to English is not an exact science because of it.
