Blasphemy is only a crime to a theist.

This is an either / or issue.? Either you're speaking of the sacred or you're speaking of the profane? Problem with that sort of rationale? Problem is---you leave out common sense. You become the arbiter (judge) of civility, thereby losing all touch with civility. Do you seriously think an all knowing entity would take mockery seriously? It's like yelling at sun for being so yellow and daring it to do something. You just end up getting sunburned and hoarse. God understands and likes a good disagreement just as much as God loves the just and pities the prideful.It's lukewarm sentiments that gall.

You're kidding right,blasphemy?LOL!! First of all that word belongs back in the dark ages when people used to be executed by the church for heresy,usually because they had made the wrong person their enemy or because the threatened the churches power. Funny thing is that most Christians that seem to believe the world would be such a finer place if it were a theocracy fail to realize that the reason it's not a theocracy is because previous Christians helped fight against it because they unlike the modern Christians understood that everybody is a victim under a theocracy,not just the non believer.

People making a mockery of God is an exercisement of the first amendment. If Yahoo! Answers deleted it as "blasphemy", it would not only be a violation of constitutional rights, but a severely biased handling of the situation. This question reflects your intolerance and immaturity. I am Christian, but I do not persecuted those who make a mockery of God. God will deal with them himself. He doesn't need Yahoo! Answers to do that for him.

When you get to Level 8, you get new button next to the "Flag for Abuse" button.

It looks like a lightning bolt, and says "Smite"

Options:
* Blasphemy
* False Witness
* Spam
* Posting on the Sabbath (Exodus 31:14)

The Spam option has the usual meaning of "ignore by Yahoo Answers."

You talk as if deities are a empirically proved. They aren't. If you think disagreeing and giving an opinion is mocking then you are just a tad touchy.

This is a religion and spirituality section. There are others aside from christians who use the forum. So long as they are within yahoo's code of conduct their answers will not get removed.

The guy who thinks Yahoo doesn't censure free speech should visit the politics sections every now and again. Yahoo isn't a religious organization so blasphemy is not an issue for them.

That would be imposing the Christian religions rules and regulations on everyone. You cant expect special treatment. Blasphemy is just part of you're believe but does not exist as far as im concerned.

That would be because believers aren't in charge of the world like they were when the church slaughtered anyone it pleased. That would also be because no god has appointed anyone his pesonal arbiter of good taste and blasphemy. But I understand the Taliban is making a comeback in Afghanistan. They think blasphemy is a problem too. Maybe folks who hav that concern would be more comfortable in the caves with them.

B/c, if someone makes a mockery of god, by say, for example, using the FSM, the person who would get in trouble, could clam to really believe in it, and then Yahoo Answers would get into trouble.

Only if they delete messages that mock other gods and non-belief in God as Blasphemy. Wait... that would mean Yahoo!Answers Religion and Spritituality section wouldn't exist...
